Merih Akyol, EDS Project Leader of Teneks Tekstil, answered Enfotek's questions. Akyol said: "With EDS, the flow of information has come to a very fast point," and his explanations are as follows:
How long have you been working in the apparel industry?
We have been working since 1991. As Teneks company, we have been working since 1996. We are doing the garment/manufacturing and exportation of Combed Textile Products. We work with customers from USA, Germany, France. We produce according to the needs of privileged customers who give importance to quality and timing in Turkey.
What is your position in the company and at which stage of the information flow process do you take part?
I carry out the duties of customer representative, IT Responsible. When Enfotek EDS Ent started to be established in our company, I also took on the task of EDS Project Leadership.
How many years have you been using information management software? Have you used another management software system before?
For many years, we carried out our business follow-up with our own Excel spreadsheets. We tried Ya-Ge software for a while. However, it did not continue because it did not comply with our workflow and did not respond adequately to our requests. After that trial, we realized that information management could not be done with packaged software, and we continued to follow up with excel even though it took time.
How did you meet with the EDS? What was influential in the decision process?
In the beginning we were prejudiced. We thought that Enfotek EDS-Ent was no different from other package programs. However, after we met, we were impressed by the solutions and sectoral expertise of the Enfotek team. Being in the textile management levels like us and speaking the same language with us made our communication easier. However, we did not make a quick decision. With long meetings, we examined the Enfotek EDS-Ent system in detail. We did not take the word for it, we examined the suitability of our work flow for long hours with all our technical staff.
How long have you been using the EDS?
It hasn't been a year yet.
What were your needs and expectations from the system when investing in the EDS?
I already stated that before using Enfotek EDS-Ent, we had followed up the business with excel spreadsheets. We did not have information integration, we could not control data entries, it was very open to personal error. In addition, manual data entry was very time consuming. While investing in the Enfotek EDS-Ent system, our expectation was that it would meet all the current tracking and reporting methods, and provide a more robust, efficient and faster working opportunity.
How much of your goals have been met with EDS?
Product information, order management, sample management, MRP, purchasing, warehouse, production tracking sections were activated. We are about to reach the targeted complete integration. As EDS-Ent stepped in, repetitive data entries were eliminated, our reporting became easier and our business management became easier.
Can you evaluate the Enfotek services?
Enfotek employees are extremely patient, fast and have a good command of their fields. We always get answers to our requests. For many years, we sought solutions on our own with the belief that this kind of service could not exist. However, Enfotek approaches the project holistically. They are like our business partners, we can discuss and exchange ideas on any technical issue.

The Enfotek EDS-Ent system is very flexible. At the beginning of the project, some of its features were revised for us, and project changes are still being made according to our wishes. Otherwise, we would not be able to provide a complete system transition. We always feel like they are working with us. Enfotek EDS-Ent meets our needs in terms of data security. We get accurate information from a single system, and only relevant people can access this information. We work uninterruptedly with Enfotek EDS-Ent. Even though our data amount has increased, we do not have such problems like crashing etc. Enfotek EDS-Ent enables us to access information very quickly with its ease of use.
What are your future plans for Enfotek products?
We want to switch to Enfotek EDS-Ent Suite version and integrate all our information management including Accounting, Human Resources and Export under a single system.
