In the last part of the "Unfinished ERP Projects and Their Costs to Businesses", Enfotek A.Ş. General Manager Tuğrul Tamtürk answered the question, "Is ERP a stand-alone solution?" and explained the effects of digital transformation on employees and companies.
“Software is not an organism that works by itself. Complementing it are the data entered by management and employees," says Tamtürk, "Employees get this data from reports, graphs and tables, which are called key performance indicators consisting of these data. It is necessary to think about these outputs. There should be an interaction between the software and the employees. Software needs the human brain, and humans need software," he said.
SOFTWARE ADD VALUE TO EMPLOYEES
“Mankind have 5 senses and interprets life with these senses. But it's the software that will show us what's going on at each end of a 10,000-square-foot factory. It is the employees and the management who will interpret this and make strategic decisions. Stating that it is not possible to get a result by removing the experience of the employees from the system, Tamtürk continued as follows: “Sometimes users are afraid of the software. They think that if the software comes, our value will decrease and they will not need us. In fact, on the contrary, if the software comes, the employee value increases. Employees who demonstrate their intelligence and experience with the software are more valuable.
Since digital transformation progresses slowly in Turkey, there are few companies that have completed their digital transformation. When we think about how the software affects the personnel circulation, the software acts as a litmus paper here. The software separates the employees who can work systematically, regularly and with targets in a company, and the daily, scattered and unsystematic employees like a litmus paper.
THE SYSTEM MEANS TO BE TRANSPARENT
Because it is not possible for the software to fully settle without changing the working culture. Just as the body cleans the dead cell, the software does the same. Businesses will continue on their way with employees who adapt. This is a necessary change. When a staff structure that works in harmony with the system is 80-90 percent, the option of changing jobs will be the last thought. Without personal mistakes and other personal reasons, that employee will not want to leave a systematic company.”
Enfotek A.S. General Manager Tuğrul Tamtürk ended his words as follows: “For a company to be systematic means to be transparent. Transparency is the visibility of a firm's performance. It indicates that things are measurable. Thus, the administration has to be more fair. Because everything is visible with data. The employee sets goals and gets rid of the superhuman complexity of the job. The employee feels more successful.”
